EL PASO, TX – At approximately 7 a. m. on Thursday, April 21, a cement truck driver traveling westbound on the Interstate 10 near the Spaghetti Bowl lost control causing the truck to overturn and roll on its side. El paso is located about 5 hours from Midland and Odessa Texas.

The truck accident occurred between Paisano before the Raynolds exit ramp when it crashed into a median, overturning and spilling debris and oil onto the highway. backing up traffic east and west for miles.

KFOX14 reports:

Three lanes on Interstate 10 West were closed backing up traffic east and west for miles while crews with the Texas Department of Transportation and El Paso Fire Department worked to clear cement and oil spilled by an overturned cement truck on Interstate 10 Thursday morning.

The debris on the eastbound lane was cleared at about 9:30 a.m. and congestion cleared.

Tx-DOT and fire crews continued to work on clearing oil and cement from westbound lanes. Just after 10 a.m. all lanes were cleared and traffic was backed up to Viscount.

El Paso Police told KFOX14 no other parties where involved and the driver was the only occupant in the truck. He did not suffer any injuries.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
