BAKERSFIELD, CA. – On Friday, May 20, a school bus carrying students from an elementary school as well as a junior high school collided with a work truck. Police reported that two children suffered minor injuries.
The accident occurred at about 8:00 a.m at the corner of Wegis Avenue and Johnson Road. The California Highway Patrol said that officers were sent to the scene.
The bus was traveling from Rio Bravo Greeley and was headed north on Wegis Avenue. The work truck was traveling eastbound on Johnson Road.
Officers said they have not determined who was at fault in the crash but believe that neither vehicle was traveling more than 25 mph at the time of the crash.
