From Sky 4, the cab of the Texas Star Express truck could be seen straddling the HOV lane barrier blocking all of the westbound lanes of I-30 near the 635 interchange. The cab was reduced to charred and twisted metal.

MyFOXdfw.com reports:

The driver was taken to the hospital with a broken arm, according to Mesquite police.

It’s not clear exactly how the 10:45 a.m. accident happened, although at least one other car with a damaged fender was at the accident site.

It appears the semi driver lost control for some reason and over-corrected, tipping the 18-wheeler on its right side.

Westbound traffic on I-30 was being diverted onto northbound 635. The freeway could be closed for several hours as investigators gather information about the accident.
