SAN ANTONIO, TX – An 18 wheeler truck carrying large concrete barriers dumped its load at the I-35 and Loop 410 interchange on Thursday, Aug 4, at around 4:30 a.m., strewing 45 tons of concrete slabs onto the highway, according to authorities.

TxDOT workers were rushed to the scene to repair the damaged highway. They arrived on the scene at about 6 a.m. and worked into the afternoon to repair the roadway. The damage from the concrete barriers caused potholes that were about 6 to 8 inches deep.

Police said it was unclear whether the truck collapsed under the weight of the load or if it rolled over.

There were no injuries reported at the time of the accident.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
