TOLEDO, OH – A man was seriously injured on Thursday, Aug 11, when the vehicle he was driving was hit by a semi truck. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 57-year-old Frank Billings Jr. of Whitehouse, OH.
The accident occurred at about 5:40 a.m. on Maumee Western Road (US-20A) and Eber Road in Monclova Township where Billings failed to stop for a stop sign. The big rig hit Billings vehicle and then crashed into a utility pole and an apartment building with people inside.
The driver of the big rig was identified as 50-year-old Dale Doxsee of Temperance, MI.
Billings was taken by air ambulance to the University of Toledo Medical Center. Doxsee and a resident of the apartment complex were treated at the scene.
