CHICAGO, IL – A semi truck driver was killed on Wednesday night, Aug 24, in a six vehicle collision in Highland Park, Illinois. Highland Park is a suburb located about 27 miles northwest of Chicago and about 17 miles northeast of Arlington Heights.
The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at U.S. Route 41 and Half Day Road and involved four cars and two semi-trucks where one of the truck drivers died at the scene.
The truck driver killed in the deadly crash was identified as 51-year-old Richard Stolt, of Cleveland, Minnesota who, according to Lake County Coroner Art Yanceydied, died of trauma.

The driver of the other semi-truck had injuries, but he’s expected to be okay.
Four drivers in the other cars had minor injuries.
It’s not clear yet how the accident happened.
The accident scene was still causing traffic backups at during the early morning commute Thursday as police investigated.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
