The tractor-trailer rolled over and burst into flames. Fortunately, the driver, Jerry E. Weseman 59 years old, from Grove City, escaped with non-life threatening injury. He was airlifted by helicopter to a hospital in St. Cloud, MN.

There are stop signs on 300th St. on both sides of the intersection, therefore it appears evident that the accident was caused by the big rig driver.

The crash occurred when the semi, traveling westbound on 300th Street, failed to yield to the southbound garbage truck, and was broad-sided, according to the State Patrol. During the course of the crash the semi rolled, and then caught fire. Black smoke could be seen from miles away

The article also points out that because this was a high-impact crash, the protocol was to call in the Life Link helicopter, which was done in this instance for the semi truck driver, Jerry Weseman.
