SANTA CLARITA, CA – A multi semi truck accident occured Monday night, Dec 12, involving about a dozen 18 wheeler rigs on the southbound 5 Freeway near the 14 Freeway in the Newhall, California area injuring 4 people Newhall is located about 1 mile south of Santa Clarita and about 10 miles north of Sylmar CA.

The accident was reported at about 8:30 p.m. Dec 12 in the truck tunnel of the freeway. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, 55 firefighters arrived at the scene.

The California Highway Patrol told the media that one of the vehicles was a gas-tanker truck, which had leaked about 30 gallons of fuel and that hazardous materials specialists were called to the scene to inspect the truck.

It was unclear as to what extent the victims were injured.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
