CARTHAGE, TN. – An 18 wheeler accident occured Thursday, Jan 26, at mile marker 258 in Carthage, Tennessee. The city of Carthage is located in Smith County about 56 miles north east of Nashville.

The semi truck accident happened around 10:30 a.m. in a ditch along side the Interstate 40 which partially blocked traffic for several hours on Thursday.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation reported that the I-40 was cleared at about 1:30 p.m., however, there were no reports of injuries or what caused the accident

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
