Syracuse, NY – A tractor trailer got stuck Thursday morning under the West Genesee Street railroad bridge at Erie Boulevard West in Syracuse, NY.

The semi truck blocked the westbound lanes of West Genesee for nearly an hour before a tow truck could pull out the damaged trailer.

The accident occurred Thursday morning, March 15, at about 9:43 a.m. The truck driver, who was employed by Har Rai Transport Ltd of Ottawa at the time of the incident, was identified as Ryan Arbuckle, 37, of Kenaya, Ontario.

Arbuckle was traveling westbound when the cab of his truck cleared the bridge, but its trailer struck at the front peeling back about a third of the roof before the big rig came to a stop.

The driver was charged with exceeding clearance, Syracuse police said.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
