One man lies dead after a bizarre hit and run accident by a tractor trailer in El Paso, TX on July 5, 2012. The deceased man was involved in a traffic accident and got into a scuffle with the other driver when he accidentally got run over by a semi truck.

According to police investigators, Reyes, who was in a blue 2005 Ford F150 pickup truck, got out and confronted a man who was in a pearl-white Lexus.

Investigators told the media that both men began fighting and Reyes ended up underneath a commercial tractor-trailer that was also at the intersection as result of the fight.

KFOX 14 News reports:

Soon after, the victim was lying on the ground the traffic light turned green and the tractor-trailer drove off, running over the man. Police believe that the truck driver was unaware that his vehicle ran over the man.

Police said Reyes died instantly.

He was seen lying in the middle of the street before his body was covered.

Special Traffic investigators questioned the passenger who they say was a friend of the victim.

The other man involved in the fight left the scene soon after the incident.

Police told KFOX14 they’d like that man to come forward since he was a witness to the man’s death. He is described as Hispanic in his 20s, about 6 feet tall and weighs about 200 pounds. They said he has a short hair, which can be described as clean-cut. He was last seen wearing a muscle T-shirt.

The driver of the 18 wheeler who police said is a key witness was found Thursday afternoon. Police did not say if the truck driver knew what had happened.

The incident remains under investigation.
