SAN ANGELO, Texas — A Utah truck driver en route to Oklahoma was killed when his semi truck overturned Saturday night, Oct.20, in Reagan County, according to a Department of Public Safety report.

The accident occurred on Saturday evening at 10 p.m. when the 18-wheeler, traveling westbound on Farm-to-Market Road 2600, crashed at the intersection of Ranch Road 33, just north of Big Lake.

The victim was identified as Dale Taylor, 40, of Spanish Fork, Utah.

The DPS report stated that Taylor approached the intersection at an unsafe speed and attempted to make a turn, but the truck overturned on its side.

Taylor was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

Reagan County Justice of the Peace Patty Creech pronounced Taylor dead at the scene. His body was taken to Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Big Spring.

Taylor was driving a truck owned by Premiere Trading & Transportation in Cushing, Okla. He was hauling crude oil from Big Lake back to Cushing.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
