TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — According to Alabama State Troopers, a 58-year-old Dallas, Texas semi truck driver, identified as Ramon Reyes, crashed into the interstate sign that indicates the 71A (Moundville) and 71B (Tuscaloosa) exits, knocking the sign to the ground and blocking all three lanes of southbound traffic.

The accident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. where the tractor trailer was found in the median at the 72 mile marker, according to a State Troopers spokeswoman. Southbound traffic on Interstate 20/59 was at a standstill for several hours

The spokeswoman said that Reyes was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
