STANTON, Texas — A semi truck accident that occured on Wednesday, March 20, has claimed the life of a 37 year-old Corpus Christi man.

The driver of a pickup truck was killed after hitting a semi truck that was pulling out of a private drive in Midland County, TX on the eastbound I-20 service road just southwest of Stanton.

The accident occurred on the Interstate 20 service road around 8:35 PM on March 20 near mile marker 155 located between Midland and Stanton.

The Texas Department of Public Safety identified the victim as 37 year-old Michael Ware of Corpus Christi who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The troopers told the media that Ware was traveling east on the Interstate 20 service road when he smashed his Chevrolet pickup truck into a Peterbilt truck that was pulling out of a private drive.

The driver of the big rig was identified as Abram Cortez of Lamesa. He did not appear to be injured.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
