BEARDEN, AR – A fatal semi truck crash claimed the lives of two Bearden, Arkansas residents on Thursday, June 13, in an 18-wheeler truck crash on U.S. Highway 79.

The accident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, June 13, 2013 in an unincorporated part of Calhoun County, between Bearden and Camden.

The victims killed in the crash were identified as Lacey Welch, 27 years old, from Bearden along with her daughter, Alexia. Welch was driving south on U.S. 79 when she struck the back of semi truck which was ahead of her at the time at State Highway 205.

KTBS.com website reported:

“Welch was killed in the crash along with 9-year-old Alexia Welch. Lacey Welch’s 10 year-old son, Trent Welch, was also seriously injured in the crash.”

The truck was driven by John Oliver, who was not injured in the accident.

The police report states that the weather was dry and clear at the time.
