CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Police said that heavy rain was a factor in a cargo truck accident on I-37 in Corpus Christi, TX that occurred on October 13. Corpus Christi is located in Nueces County, Texas in the southern part of the state about 164 miles north of Brownsville.

The accident occurred in the morning hours of October 13, north of the Sharpsburg Rd exit on the northbound lanes of I-37, near mile marker 14 when the truck lost control and slid into the concrete median. It then spun out and came to a stop, blocking traffic.

The truck driver was injured, although reports say not seriously.

Police say the driver was driving too fast for the rainy and wet conditions.
