OLDHAM COUNTY, TX – A semi truck driver was killed on October 23, when his semi truck jackknifed and overturned on I-40 in Oldham County, TX. Oldham County is located in the Texas panhandle in the northern part of the state. The accident site was on the westbound I-40 eight miles from the New Mexico border and about 64 miles west of Amarillo.

The crash happened at 7:37 a.m. when the semi truck went off the road onto the shoulder then jackknifed and overturned after over-correcting. No other vehicles were involved.

The truck driver was killed in the crash. He was identified as 66 year-old Willis Buddy Henry from Rossville, GA. There was also another truck driver riding as a passenger in the cab who was injured in the crash, but survived.

The passenger was identified as 56 year-old Janie Ruth Henry, also from Rossville, GA. She was transported to the Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo.

State Troopers said the truck driver was wearing his seat belt, but the passenger was not.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
