The accident happened at about 1:30 p.m., October 8, when a truck was rounding the curve at a cloverleaf interchange from the eastbound U.S. Highway 287 onto the northbound I-35E. The tractor trailer tipped over on the I-35E overpass right at the end of the curve at mile marker 403.

There were no other vehicles involved in the accident and no one was injured. The 18-wheeler was hauling large rolls of paper and the load shifted during the curve which caused the truck to overturn.

The First Choice Transit truck was transporting cargo out of Fort Worth and was heading to its destination in Waxahachie at 200 Butcher Road, about 2.8 miles up the road from the accident site.

There was some diesel fuel leakage from the big rig’s fuel tank, but a HAZMAT response was not necessary. Waxahachie firefighters were able to contain the spill with equipment and materials onhand.
