WACO, TX — Two separate accidents involving two tractor trailers, big rigs and a pickup truck occurred along the I-35 on Thursday, July 21, and Friday, July 22, in Central Texas.
The first incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. Thursday evening, July 21, near exit 337 when the driver of a pickup truck that was traveling south slowed down to avoid hitting something on the highway.
An 18 wheeler tractor trailer that was following the pick up slowed down as well, but a second big rig failed to slow down and hit the preceding semi truck.
The collision resulted in one of the semi truck’s saddle fuel tanks rupturing. HazMat had to be called to the scene to handle the fuel spill.
The second incident occurred at approximately 4:40 a.m.Friday, July 22, when two more semi trucks collided at exit 339.

While no injuries were reported at the time of the accidents, the I-35 was minus one lane at both locations until the wreckage and debris could be cleared.
The incident is under investigation at this time.
