KENEDY, TX – Four men were killed in a fatal crash with an 18 wheeler in Kenedy, TX when the Honda they were traveling in crashed into the rear of the big rig when it stopped to make a left turn. The city of Kenedy is located in Karnes County, TX in the southern part of the state about 60 miles southeast of San Antonio.

The accident happened around 12:30 a.m. Monday morning, May 20, at the intersection of Farm to Market 1145 and Texas State Highway 72. The semi truck was traveling south on Highway 72 and stopped to make a left turn onto FM 1145. The big rig was followed by a motorcycle and the Honda with four occupants. The motorcyclist laid down his bike which slid into the tractor trailer, but the Honda crashed into the rear of the truck.

Three people died at the scene. The fourth was trasnsported to the hospital, but died. Police investigating the accident determined that the motorcyclist and the four men in the Honda were oil field workers who knew each other and had all been at a bar earlier in the evening.

The truck driver was not injured in the accident. The motorcyclist sustained injuries, but were non life-threatening.

The incident remains under investigation at this time
