MANKATO, MN – Two semi trucks collided just outside Mankato, MN due to foggy road conditions. Mankato is located in Blue Earth County, MN in the southern part of the state about 82.6 miles southwest of Minneapolis.

The accident happened around 7:00 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 14 and Minnesota State Highway 60 when n eastbound semi truck hauling grain made a left turn across the divided highway to go north on Highway 60 on the way to Madison Lake. Another semi truck was traveling west on Highway 14 and crashed into the rear of the grain trailer, spilling grain all over the roadway. The site of the accident was about 9.3 miles southeast of Mankato.

An article in the Mankato Free Press reported on the story:

“A grain truck traveling east on 14 turned onto Highway 60 north when a west-bound semi hit the back of the grain truck trailer, spilling grain across the intersection and heavily damaging both trucks.”

According to the article, there were no injuries.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
