Author: ODESSA, Texas — A fatal accident that happened on April 4 was caused by a wrong way driver in an SUV going westbound on the eastbound side of I-20 that crashed head-on into an oncoming tractor trailer with a second eastbound tractor trailer in the lane next to it.

ALICE, Texas — A man riding his bicycle was hit by a tractor trailer Tuesday, March 12, leaving him seriously injured.

JACKSONVILLE, TX — The identity of 1 of the 4 men from Palestine Texas who were driving south on US-79 and were killed on March 16, has been identified as 24-year old Christian Chavez. The names of the other men have not been released.

STANTON, Texas — A semi truck accident that occured on Wednesday, March 20, has claimed the life of a 37 year-old Corpus Christi man.
The driver of a pickup truck was killed after hitting a semi truck that was pulling out of a private drive in Midland County, TX on the eastbound I-20 service road just southwest of Stanton.
FRANKFORT, Ill. — A semi truck overturned in Frankfort, Illinois, this morning after the big rig collided with a car and rolled over into a ditch on the I-80, while the car remained upright on the pavement.

An article by Deborah Whistler at Fleet Owner states that due to an increase in truck accidents attributed to increase in the oil and gas industry, the Texas Dept. of Transportation (TxDOT) has launched a “Be Safe, Drive Smart” campaign aimed at reminding drivers to be extra careful when driving around trucks in energy work zones.

DUMAS, Texas — Authorities reported that five teenagers were killed in a fiery collision on Sunday, Mar 7, when their Chevy SUV ran a stop sign and collided with a tanker loaded with fuel near Dumas, Texas. The city of Dumas is located about 45 miles north of Amarillo.

MEXIA, Texas — According to a Department of Public Safety trooper, a gravel truck driver traveling east on Highway 84 was killed on Thursday morning, Feb. 28, after his 18-wheeler veered off the highway and struck a tree on the shoulder of the road just west of Mexia. The city of Mexia is located about 86 miles southeast of Dallas.
