RIDGEFIELD, NJ – A semi tractor trailer lost two of its wheels Friday morning, December 24, and set off a deadly chain reaction truck accident on the New Jersey Turnpike. The horrific crash occurred in the southbound lanes of the turnpike near mile marker 116.5, where it passes through Ridgefield, New Jersey. The truck accident area is in the far northeast part of the state near the Hudson River, about 75 miles east of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and about 14 miles northwest of New York, New York.

At about 6:50 a.m. Friday morning truck driver Hasan Toma was driving a 2000 Peterbilt tractor trailer. He was headed south on the New Jersey Turnpike, also known as Interstate 95. As the tractor trailer was moving through the city of Ridgefield two large tires with their hubcaps attached suddenly fell off the semi truck near mile marker 116.5 on the turnpike. MEDFORD, OR – A man was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon, December 21, when his vehicle was partially crushed in a rollover truck accident at a busy intersection in Jackson County, Oregon. The injured man was trapped in his vehicle for more than an hour after a trailer section of the semi flipped onto his pick-up truck at the intersection of Biddle and Table Rock Roads in the city of Medford, OR. The truck accident area is the far southwest corner of Oregon, about 282 miles south of Vancouver, Washington and about 148 miles north of Redding, California.

On Tuesday afternoon 41 year old Phillip B. McCulloch of Central Point, OR was driving a semi trailer truck through Jackson County, OR. The driver was hauling two trailer sections but his cargo and destination is not known. The tractor trailer is owned by Express Transport, a trucking and freight company based out of Seattle, Washington. HOUSTON, TX – An early morning truck accident Wednesday, January 5, closed down part of a major highway in Harris County, Texas. The single vehicle crash also spilled diesel fuel on the Gulf Freeway on a section where it passes through the heart of Houston. The truck accident site is in the eastern side of Texas off the Gulf of Mexico, about 317 miles south of Texarkana, Arkansas and about 143 miles west of Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Early Wednesday morning an unidentified truck driver was northbound on the Gulf Freeway driving through east Texas. The Gulf Freeway is also known as Interstate 45. The tractor trailer is owned by the Kroger Company. The Kroger Company, based out of Cincinnati, Ohio, has a diverse portfolio including a major grocery store chain, mall jewelry stores, multi department stores and convenience shops. EUCLID, OH – The driver of a semi trailer was hurt in a rollover truck accident Saturday afternoon, December 18, on a highway in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. The single vehicle crash happened as the truck driver was westbound on Interstate 90, near the city of Euclid, OH. The accident area is on the northeast edge of the Cleveland metro region near the shores of Lake Erie, about 184 miles north of Parkersburg, West Virginia and about 91 miles southwest of Erie, Pennsylvania.

On Saturday afternoon an unidentified man was driving a semi trailer truck through north Ohio. The driver was carrying a load of cardboard boxes and paper products described by one police officer as “heavy and dense”. WASHINGTON D.C. – On December 29, 2010 the Federal Motor Carrier Safey Administration (FMCSA) proposed a rule change for hours of service (HOS) for drivers of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs). The new rule is intended to “provide flexibility for drivers to take breaks when needed and would reduce safety and health risks associated with long hours.”

DENHAM SPRINGS, LA – Two separate rollover truck accidents happened early Wednesday morning, December 15, on the same stretch of highway in Livingston Parish, Louisiana. The two incidents occurred on eastbound Interstate 12 as it passes through Denham Springs, LA. One of the overturns spilled part of its chemical cargo, forcing police to reduce traffic to one lane. The truck accidents occurred on the eastern edge of the Baton Rouge metro region in the far southeast part of Louisiana, about 198 miles east of Beaumont, Texas and about 150 miles south of Jackson, Mississippi.

Just after midnight on Wednesday an unidentified truck driver was driving a semi tanker truck through Livingston Parish, LA, going east on Interstate 12. BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Three people were killed and three more injured Thursday, December 9, in an early morning truck accident on a highway in Broward County, Florida. The multi vehicle crash happened when a semi rear-ended two passenger cars on northbound U.S. Highway 27, in the northwest Miami metro region. The accident area is in far southeast part of the state near the Atlantic coastline, about 96 miles east of Naples, FL and about 223 miles south of Orlando.

Early Thursday morning 42 year old Placid Ferdinand of Crosby, Texas was driving a Freightliner semi trailer through Broward County, FL. The truck’s cargo and destination is not known. At the time of the truck accident there was one passenger in the cab section of the 18 wheeler, identified as 47 year old Sandy Kay Ferdinand, also of Crosby, TX.

PORT BARRE, LA – Twenty one school children were injured Friday morning, December 3, when their bus was involved in a truck accident on a highway in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. A semi trailer collided with the school bus as it was pulling back onto U.S. Highway 190 after picking up children near the town of Port Barre. The truck accident area is in the south-central section of the state, about 54 miles west of Baton Rouge, LA and about 157 miles east of Beaumont, Texas.

FORT WORTH, TX – A rollover truck accident Friday morning, December 24, shut down part of an interstate for hours in Tarrant County, Texas. The single vehicle crash occurred when one of the tractor trailer’s tires blew out as the semi was on the ramp leading from westbound Interstate 20 to northbound Loop 820 East in the city of Fort Worth, Texas. The truck accident area is in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro region in the east north section of the state, about 224 miles west of Shreveport, Louisiana and about 106 miles south of Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Early Friday morning an unidentified truck driver was headed west on Interstate 20 through Tarrant County, Texas. The driver was hauling a cargo of approximately 80,000 pounds of frozen chickens in the refrigerated trailer section of the semi at the time of the truck accident.
