DETROIT, MI — Poor visibility and slippery roads are being blamed for a mufti-vehicle accident involving over 24 vehicles and several tractor trailers which led to a chain-reaction of collisions on a mile-long stretch of the I-75 in Detroit on Thursday, Jan. 31.  The accident resulted in at least two children and one adult being killed and at least 20 more injured.

As many as 30 vehicles with 5 semis were involved in a fatal chain-reaction crash in whiteout conditions on the southbound I-75 in southwest Detroit, MI at about 9:00 a.m. on Jan. 31, 2013.

PARMA, MI – Two people were killed Saturday, February 5, in a truck accident on a highway in Jackson County, Michigan. Severe winter weather is believed to be a major factor in the fatal crash on Interstate 94 in the city of Parma, MI. The truck accident occurred west of the Ann Arbor metro region in the south central part of the state, about 100 miles southeast of Grand Rapids, MI and about 110 miles northwest of Toledo, Ohio.

ALGOMA TOWNSHIP, MI – A Michigan highway was shut down for several hours Wednesday, July 21, when a semi trailer truck crashed and lost its cargo of about two dozen cows. The truck accident occurred on U.S. Highway 131 in Algoma Township, in northeast Kent County. The accident area is about 9 miles north of Grand Rapids in the far west central section of the state about 85 miles northwest of Lansing, MI and about 137 miles north of South Bend, Indiana.

Many of the cows were roaming up and down the highway by the time Michigan State Police and emergency workers responded to the incident site.

ROSEVILLE, MI – A man was seriously injured Tuesday morning, June 22, in a truck accident in Macomb County, Michigan. The collision between the car and semi trailer truck occurred at the intersection of Common Road and Groesbeck Highway in Roseville, MI, a suburb in the northeast section of the Detroit metropolitan region. FERRYSBURG, MI – A semi trailer truck overturned Monday morning on April 5, 2010 as it was exiting a Michigan Highway in Ottawa County near Ferrysburg, MI. The truck accident happened on US 31, at the Spring Lake exit ramp onto Michigan State Route 104. The accident area is in the far west central section of the state near the shores of Lake Michigan, 99 miles west of Lansing, MI and 112 miles north of South Bend, Indiana.

Spring Lake/Ferrysburg Police had to shut down the US 31 exit ramp for several hours after the truck accident. A crane was brought in and crews worked to put the semi trailer truck back upright and clear the exit ramp for traffic.
