MEXIA, Texas — According to a Department of Public Safety trooper, a gravel truck driver traveling east on Highway 84 was killed on Thursday morning, Feb. 28, after his 18-wheeler veered off the highway and struck a tree on the shoulder of the road just west of Mexia.
