BURBANK, CA – A truck accident left one person dead and shut down a major California freeway for several hours Friday morning on March 26. The truck accident happened on the Golden Gate Freeway as it passes through Burbank, in the north metro region of Los Angeles. The accident area is in the far west section of the state near the Pacific Ocean, 372 miles southeast of San Francisco and 130 miles northwest of San Diego, CA.

California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles emergency personnel responded to the scene of the deadly truck accident. The driver of the car suffered fatal injuries in the rear end collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi truck was not injured.

CHEHALIS, WA – Four semi tractor trailer trucks crashed Thursday morning, March 24, 2010 shutting down a major highway in Washington State. The truck accident happened on Interstate 5 in Lewis County near the city of Chehalis. The accident area is south of Olympia in the west central section of the state, 89 miles south of Seattle, WA and 86 miles north of Portland, Oregon.

Highway crews worked about three hours untangling the wreckage of the four truck accident. None of the trailer trucks overturned and no cargo was lost during the truck collision. There were also no reports of diesel fuel spilling out onto the roadway.

WAMSUTTER, WY – A jackknifed truck set off a twenty vehicle chain reaction accident Wednesday in Sweetwater County, Wyoming. The truck accident happened on Interstate 80 near Wamsutter, between Rock Springs and Rawlins. The accident area is in the south central section of the state, 161 miles southwest of Casper, WY and 285 miles northwest of Denver Colorado.

A second 18 wheeler tanker truck overturned on the interstate as its driver attempted to avoid hitting the jackknifed rig. The tanker was carrying a load of crude oil and spilled about one thousand gallons of oil onto the roadway.

CHICAGO, IL – A boy was killed and his father suffered serious injuries in a truck accident Friday in Chicago, Illinois. The father and son were walking home from school when they were hit by the cab of a semi tractor truck in the Pilsen neighborhood in the Near West side of Chicago. The accident area is in the far north east section of the state, 198 miles northeast of Springfield, IL and 91 miles south of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

As the father and son crossed busy South Ashland Ave. at West 18th Place, about a block from the school, they were hit by the cab of a 18 wheeler truck which was driving south on Ashland.

STONINGTON, CT – A truck driver who worked for country singer, Carrie Underwood, died Saturday in a fiery truck accident on a Connecticut highway. The single truck accident happened on Interstate 95 near the village of Stonington in New London County. The area is in the far south-east section of the state, on the shores of Block Island Sound, near the Rhode Island border, 60 miles southeast of Hartford, CT and 48 miles southwest of Providence, Rhode Island.

The fire from the truck accident burned fast and trapped the driver in the fiery cab of the semi. In less than a half hour both parts of the tractor trailer truck were charred, smoldering wreckage.

ELMIRA TOWNSHIP, MI – A Michigan man died Thursday after a head-on truck accident in Otsego County, Michigan. The collision between the pick up truck and the 18 wheeler happened on US Route 32 near Hallock Road in Elmira Township. The area is in the central north section of the state, 183 miles north of Lansing and 125 miles south of Sault Sainte Marie, MI.

The impact of the truck accident caused the 18 wheeler to rollover on the north side of US 32 and the contents of the trailer were thrown all over the shoulder of the highway. The crash damaged the gas tank on the larger semi truck and diesel fuel spilled onto the roadway.

ROY, UT – Drugs or driver fatigue may be factors in a truck accident that happened Wednesday in Weber County Utah. The semi truck rollover accident occurred on Interstate 15 near the city of Roy, south of the Ogden metropolitan area and 32 miles north of Salt Lake City. At approximately 4:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, an unidentified truck driver, 55 years old from South Weber, was traveling north on Interstate 15, pulling two tankers filled with close to 7500 gallons of diesel fuel. HENDERSONVILLE, TN – Two semi trucks were involved in a multi vehicle accident early Monday morning north of Nashville in Hendersonville, Tennessee, slowing the morning commute. The truck accident happened in Sumner County on Viet Nam Veterans Boulevard near the Center Point exit. The accident area is in the central section of the state, 150 miles northwest of Chattanooga, TN and 128 miles north of Huntsville, Alabama.

A Pepsi semi truck hauling a cargo of soda, driven by 57 year old Jimmy L. Hanserd, slammed into the disabled vehicles and the empty trash container and trailer. The Pepsi tractor trailer truck then drove into the retainer wall on the highway.

At around 5:20 a.m. Monday, 53 year old Darvin C. Mann of Charlotte was driving a BFI tractor trailer truck carrying trash containers west on Viet Nam Veterans Blvd. As he drove near mile marker 2 and the Center Point exit a trash container fell off the truck and the trailer on the truck became loose. CAMPBELLTON, TX – A Mexican tour bus carrying an estimated 35 people was involved in a rollover accident Tuesday near Campbellton, Texas, killing two people and injuring at least eighteen according to Tommy Cavazos, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The bus, which was headed to Matamoros, Mexico, flipped and landed on its right side

PORT CLINTON, OH – An early morning tanker truck accident last Friday caused a fuel fire in Ottawa County, Ohio. The truck accident happened on Ohio State Route 2, a half mile west of Tettau Road near Port Clinton in Lake Erie Township on March 12. The accident area is in the far north central section of the state near the shores of Lake Erie, 40 miles southeast of Toledo, OH and 77 miles west of Cleveland, OH.

Authorities with the Erie Township Fire Department decided that in order to prevent an environmental hazard to the area they would let the 8,500 gallons of gasoline burn off on its own.
