TYLER, TX – A fuel tanker truck overturned and collided with a semi trailer truck Friday, May 23, 2010, in a busy area of Smith County, Texas, spilling a large amount of gas and causing serious traffic delays. The truck accident occurred at the juncture of Troup Highway and Loop 323 in the city of Tyler, TX. The area is in the northeast section of the state, about 98 miles southeast of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro region, 235 miles northeast of Austin and 100 miles west of Shreveport, Louisiana.
At around 3:00 p.m. Friday afternoon a tanker truck carrying 8500 gallons of gasoline was traveling in Tyler, TX. The tanker truck belonged to Duncan Thompson Transport, based in Atlanta, TX, and had left a nearby refinery headed to Whitehouse, TX with a delivery.
The tanker truck had reached the intersection of Troup Highway and Loop 323 and was attempting to make a turn when the unidentified driver lost control of the rig. ROXBURY, NJ – A semi trailer truck crashed into a NJ state work crew truck Wednesday morning, May 19, 2010, in Morris County, New Jersey, setting off a fire and creating miles of traffic delays. The truck accident occurred as highway crews were attempting to make road repairs on Route 80 near the town of Roxbury, NJ. The accident area is in the north central section of the state, about 70 miles east of Allentown, Pennsylvania and 47 miles west of New York, New York.
On Wednesday morning a New Jersey State Department of Transportation crew was working on the westbound lanes of Route 80, filling potholes and other road repair work. While the road work crew worked a NJ DOT truck was stopped behind them to protect them from oncoming traffic. XENIA, OH – Slippery roads may have contributed to a truck accident Monday afternoon, may 17, 2010, in Greene County, Ohio. The collision between a dump truck with an attached trailer and a utility truck occurred on Ohio Highway US 42 east of Bickett Road, in Xenia, OH near Wilberforce University. Shortly after 12 noon on Monday an unidentified truck driver was driving a dump truck with an attached trailer carrying a construction bulldozer. FRANKLIN COUNTY, MO – A semi truck accident Friday morning, May 14, 2010, on a Missouri Highway killed one woman and left five others injured. A passenger minivan rear-ended a semi trailer truck on Interstate 44 by the juncture with Highway 100 near Gray Summit in Franklin County, southwest of the St. Louis, MO metropolitan region. PLEASANTVILLE, PA – A deadly truck accident Monday morning, May 10, 2010, on a highway in Bedford County, Pennsylvania killed two truck drivers and shut down the highway for hours. The collision, which included a total of five vehicles, occurred on Route 56 in West Saint Claire Township near Pleasantville, and forced several families from their homes. HARRISON COUNTY, WV: One person was injured Thursday morning, May 6, 2010, in a semi truck accident in Harrison County, West Virginia that closed the highway for several hours. The truck driver and a passenger were traveling on State Route 20 when the one truck collision occurred just south of the town of Romines Mills. PARADISE, PA – Three people were injured early Tuesday morning, May 4, 2010, when a semi trailer truck rear-ended another semi truck on a highway in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The two-truck accident occurred on State Route 30, also known as Lincoln Highway, in the city of Paradise, PA. The area of the collision is east of the Lancaster metro region in the southeast section of the state, 60 miles west of Philadelphia and 90 miles northeast of Baltimore, Maryland.
Shortly before 4:00 a.m. Tuesday morning two semi trailer trucks were traveling east on Route 30. The two 18 wheelers were in the same lane of traffic, one behind the other. As the two semi trucks traveled through the 3300 block of Lincoln Highway East in the township of Paradise the front truck suddenly came to a stop on the highway. YUBA CITY, CA – A semi tanker truck crashed Sunday afternoon, May 2, 2010, on a California highway, spilling aqueous ammonia on the roadway and closing down travel lanes for over seven hours. The truck accident occurred on California Highway 99, near Yuba City in Sutter County, CA. At about 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon 62 year old truck driver Richard Dean Spence of Wheatland, CA was northbound on Highway 99 in a double tractor trailer passing through Sutter County south of Yuba City. The truck driver was hauling a load of toxic aqueous ammonia in the tanker truck to be delivered at a destination in the Pleasant Grove area.
