EUCLID, OH – The driver of a semi trailer was hurt in a rollover truck accident Saturday afternoon, December 18, on a highway in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. The single vehicle crash happened as the truck driver was westbound on Interstate 90, near the city of Euclid, OH. The accident area is on the northeast edge of the Cleveland metro region near the shores of Lake Erie, about 184 miles north of Parkersburg, West Virginia and about 91 miles southwest of Erie, Pennsylvania.

On Saturday afternoon an unidentified man was driving a semi trailer truck through north Ohio. The driver was carrying a load of cardboard boxes and paper products described by one police officer as “heavy and dense”. WASHINGTON D.C. – On December 29, 2010 the Federal Motor Carrier Safey Administration (FMCSA) proposed a rule change for hours of service (HOS) for drivers of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs). The new rule is intended to “provide flexibility for drivers to take breaks when needed and would reduce safety and health risks associated with long hours.”

DENHAM SPRINGS, LA – Two separate rollover truck accidents happened early Wednesday morning, December 15, on the same stretch of highway in Livingston Parish, Louisiana. The two incidents occurred on eastbound Interstate 12 as it passes through Denham Springs, LA. One of the overturns spilled part of its chemical cargo, forcing police to reduce traffic to one lane. The truck accidents occurred on the eastern edge of the Baton Rouge metro region in the far southeast part of Louisiana, about 198 miles east of Beaumont, Texas and about 150 miles south of Jackson, Mississippi.

Just after midnight on Wednesday an unidentified truck driver was driving a semi tanker truck through Livingston Parish, LA, going east on Interstate 12. BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Three people were killed and three more injured Thursday, December 9, in an early morning truck accident on a highway in Broward County, Florida. The multi vehicle crash happened when a semi rear-ended two passenger cars on northbound U.S. Highway 27, in the northwest Miami metro region. The accident area is in far southeast part of the state near the Atlantic coastline, about 96 miles east of Naples, FL and about 223 miles south of Orlando.

Early Thursday morning 42 year old Placid Ferdinand of Crosby, Texas was driving a Freightliner semi trailer through Broward County, FL. The truck’s cargo and destination is not known. At the time of the truck accident there was one passenger in the cab section of the 18 wheeler, identified as 47 year old Sandy Kay Ferdinand, also of Crosby, TX.
