NEW SMYRNA BEACH, FL – A man was killed and his passenger injured when the SUV they were traveling in was rear-ended by a semi trailer truck in Volusia County, Florida early Wednesday morning, May 26, 2010. The truck accident happened near the city of New Smyrna Beach, FL on Interstate 95 and State Route 9, just south of State Route 44. The accident area is in the north central section of the state, about 56 miles northeast of Orlando and about 15 miles south of Daytona Beach.

Several departments responded to the truck-car collision, including Florida Highway Patrol, Volusia County Sheriffs, and Edgewater Police.

At around 4:00 a.m. Wednesday morning 50 year old Terry L. Eveleth of McFarland, Kansas was driving a semi tractor trailer north on Interstate 95. At one point the truck driver was following a 1999 Chevrolet SUV on the interstate driven by an unidentified 60 year old male from Edgewater, FL and a female passenger.

As the truck driver neared the juncture with State Route 9 he slammed into the back of the SUV. It is not known at this time if the SUV had slowed down or if it malfunctioned in some way. ... Read More

LAKEVILLE, MN – A multi vehicle truck accident occurred on Monday morning, May 24, 2010, releasing thousands of honey bees on a highway in Dakota County, Minnesota, about 25 miles south of the Minneapolis-St Paul metro region. A semi trailer truck was transporting the bees, traveling on Interstate 35 when it was involved in an accident near the city of Lakeville, MN. The accident area is in the southeast section of the state, 39 miles west of Red Wing, MN and about 112 miles north of Clear Lake, Iowa.

The multi vehicle crash left the two cars demolished between the two 18 wheelers and the impact of the truck accident knocked several beehives off the flatbed of the Bauer truck, where they fell onto the highway and broke open.

Darren Straus, 37 years old of Fertile, MN, was driving a semi flatbed truck Monday morning north on I-35, carrying a cargo of honey bees from Mississippi, where they spent the winter, up to North Dakota for the summer. The bees are owned by Bauer Honey, Inc., based in Fertile, MN, and the truck was carrying hives on the flatbed trailer. The hives were holding about 17 million honey bees at the time. ... Read More

TYLER, TX – A fuel tanker truck overturned and collided with a semi trailer truck Friday, May 23, 2010, in a busy area of Smith County, Texas, spilling a large amount of gas and causing serious traffic delays. The truck accident occurred at the juncture of Troup Highway and Loop 323 in the city of Tyler, TX. The area is in the northeast section of the state, about 98 miles southeast of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro region, 235 miles northeast of Austin and 100 miles west of Shreveport, Louisiana.

Tyler city workers and Haz-mat crews shoveled dirt and foam on the spilled gas in order to contain it and keep it from spreading in the area.

At around 3:00 p.m. Friday afternoon a tanker truck carrying 8500 gallons of gasoline was traveling in Tyler, TX. The tanker truck belonged to Duncan Thompson Transport, based in Atlanta, TX, and had left a nearby refinery headed to Whitehouse, TX with a delivery.
The tanker truck had reached the intersection of Troup Highway and Loop 323 and was attempting to make a turn when the unidentified driver lost control of the rig. ROXBURY, NJ – A semi trailer truck crashed into a NJ state work crew truck Wednesday morning, May 19, 2010, in Morris County, New Jersey, setting off a fire and creating miles of traffic delays. The truck accident occurred as highway crews were attempting to make road repairs on Route 80 near the town of Roxbury, NJ. The accident area is in the north central section of the state, about 70 miles east of Allentown, Pennsylvania and 47 miles west of New York, New York.

The diesel fuel that had spilled out of the semi truck ignited and within seconds the two trucks were engulfed in flames and black smoke filled the air.

On Wednesday morning a New Jersey State Department of Transportation crew was working on the westbound lanes of Route 80, filling potholes and other road repair work. While the road work crew worked a NJ DOT truck was stopped behind them to protect them from oncoming traffic. XENIA, OH – Slippery roads may have contributed to a truck accident Monday afternoon, may 17, 2010, in Greene County, Ohio. The collision between a dump truck with an attached trailer and a utility truck occurred on Ohio Highway US 42 east of Bickett Road, in Xenia, OH near Wilberforce University. The truck accident area is east of the Dayton, OH metro region in the southwest section of the state, about 62 miles southwest of Columbus, OH and about 55 miles northeast of Cincinnati, OH.

The truck accident forced the utility truck off the highway and it ended up in a field on the right side of the roadway.The impact of the collision caused the dump truck and its trailer to rollover onto its side and it finally came to a rest blocking the traffic lanes on US 42.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, MO – A semi truck accident Friday morning, May 14, 2010, on a Missouri Highway killed one woman and left five others injured. A passenger minivan rear-ended a semi trailer truck on Interstate 44 by the juncture with Highway 100 near Gray Summit in Franklin County, southwest of the St. Louis, MO metropolitan region. CENTRALIA, WA – A truck accident in Washington State left three people injured and shut down part of a highway for hours during the morning commute on Wednesday, May 12, 2010. The collision between a semi trailer truck and two cars occurred in a construction zone on Interstate 5 near the city of Centralia, WA near the border between Lewis and Thurston Counties. TEXARKANA, TX – Three people were injured Friday, MAY 7, 2010, in a multi vehicle truck accident in Bowie County, Texas. The collision occurred in a construction zone on Interstate 30 near the town of Texarkana. The accident area is near the border with Arkansas in the far northeast section to the state, 180 miles east of Dallas, TX and 70 miles north of Shreveport, Louisiana.

PARADISE, PA – Three people were injured early Tuesday morning, May 4, 2010, when a semi trailer truck rear-ended another semi truck on a highway in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The two-truck accident occurred on State Route 30, also known as Lincoln Highway, in the city of Paradise, PA. The area of the collision is east of the Lancaster metro region in the southeast section of the state, 60 miles west of Philadelphia and 90 miles northeast of Baltimore, Maryland.

The impact of the truck accident caused damage to the back trailer of the front semi truck and crushed the cab of the second truck which bore the logo of A. Duie Pyle, a transportation company based in West Chester, PA.

CHICAGO, IL – Two semi trucks collided Friday morning, April 30, 2010, and erupted in flames on an interstate on the south side of Chicago in Cook County, Illinois. The double truck accident occurred when one of the trucks was attempting to change lanes on Interstate 57 and crashed into a second semi trailer. The accident area is in the northeast section of the state 89 miles south of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and 95 miles northwest of South Bend, Indiana.

According to an Illinois State trooper at the scene, as the truck driver was changing lanes he lost control of his rig and slid into the path of another semi truck already in the right lane of the interstate.

Shortly after 7:00 a.m. Friday morning a semi truck was traveling in the northbound left lane on Interstate 57 in Chicago. The truck was not carrying a load at the time and was not pulling a trailer.
