FOWLERTON, TX – Two semi trucks collided in a fiery crash in Fowlerton, TX on June 19, 2013, killing one of the truck drivers. Fowlerton is located in La Salle County, TX in the southern-central part of the state about 78 miles southwest of San Antonio.

The accident happened around 1:00 p.m. near the intersection of Texas Highway 97 and Highway 72. There was also a pickup truck involved in the accident.

“The driver of the one of the big rigs died at the scene. The driver of the other suffered burns over 75% of his body. He was airlifted to a San Antonio hospital. Two people who were traveling in the pickup truck were not seriously hurt.”

One of the big rigs was pulling a lowboy trailer with heavy earth moving equipment on it.

What caused the crash is not known at this time, but is currently under investigation by the authorities.
