WEEDHAVEN, TX – A semi truck collided with a Chevrolet van in Weedhaven, TX on July 3, 2013 at the intersection of State Highway 172 and State Highway. Weedhaven is a hamlet in Jackson County, Texas in the southern part of the state about 161 miles southeast of San Antonio.

The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, July 3, when a Chevrolet van, driving south on Texas Highway 172, merged into traffic on Texas Highway 35 and collided with a semi truck traveling westbound on Highway 35. The media reported that two people were seriously injured.

The semi truck was driven by Steven Drinegar, 32 years old, from Victoria, TX. The van was driven by Landry Boudreaux, 60 years old, from Lockport, LA.

Texas State Trooper Gerald Bryant told the media that the tractor trailer struck the van in its front driver’s side as the van entered the intersection.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
