SALADO, TX – A semi truck crashed into a concrete barrier on the I-35 in Salado, TX on July 17, 2013 causing a traffic jam for several hours. Salado is located in Bell County, Texas in the central part of the state about 51 miles northeast of Austin.
The accident happened around 7:00 a.m. when the trucker lost control of the 18 wheeler and slammed into the concrete barrier along the median. The force of the impact pushed a section of concrete barrier into the southbound lane, blocking traffic in both directions.
The trucker, whose name was not identified, was driving a big rig owned by McLane Foodservice, headquartered in Carrollton, TX.
crews had to work to cleanup the mess before normal traffic could resume around 11 a.m. No injuries were reported at the time of the accident.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
